Wiring Technician (Control Panels)
Buford, GA | Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time
Are you an experienced electrical assembler or wiring technician who enjoys building and wiring industrial control panels? We are seeking a detail-oriented Wiring Technician to join a growing team in Buford, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing custom industrial control panels used in automated manufacturing and industrial environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can confidently read electrical drawings, work independently, and take pride in delivering high-quality control panel builds.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and wire industrial control panels according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, panel layouts, and bills of materials.
- Install and terminate electrical components including PLCs, VFDs, relays, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, and other control devices.
- Route, label, and organize wiring to ensure clean, professional panel builds.
- Perform electrical testing and quality inspections to verify proper functionality.
- Use hand tools, wire cutters, strippers, crimpers, and other assembly tools safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot wiring issues and assist with panel modifications when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following safety and quality standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience wiring and assembling industrial control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with control panel assembly and wiring.
- Familiarity with PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Experience in automation, machine building, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Previous experience working in a custom panel shop environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with a strong electrical aptitude who enjoys building and wiring control systems. You take pride in producing neat, accurate work, can interpret complex drawings, and are comfortable working with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control components.
