Groundskeeper

Groundskeepers are responsible for a range of landscaping, grounds maintenance, and (where applicable) snow removal duties. They routinely mow lawns, weed, plant flowers, plow snow, and remove debris to ensure community grounds are clean, well maintained, and visually presentable. They also support a positive resident experience by delivering courteous, responsive customer service.

• Ensure community is presentable at all times and adheres to Sun’s curb appeal standards (Essential)
• Maintain community vehicle and equipment (Essential)
• Picks up trash/debris from common areas and streets on a daily basis. Empties common area trash containers as needed (Essential)
• Inspect irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly; repair as needed (Essential)
• Regularly treat weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/wood chips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions. Perform other lawn care services as needed (Essential)
• If applicable, maintain community pool(s) by testing chemical levels and adjusting appropriately
• Follow safety procedures while performing duties
• Report all community maintenance issues and concerns identified while performing daily duties to the manager
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 6 months of previous groundskeeping experience in the apartment or manufactured housing industry (Preferred)
• 6 months of demonstrated knowledge and experience in general grounds maintenance techniques (Required)
• Ability to endure fluctuations in temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
• Ability to respond to business needs after normal business hours
• Ability to work an on-call schedule
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team
• Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
