Job OverviewThe Senior HVAC Technician (LICENSED) will be responsible for both preventive and corrective HVAC maintenance work and minimal installations with our client.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance services to existing HVAC equipment corresponding to work orders generated from a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Complete all documentation of work performed in compliance with the CMMS data collection process.
- Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, engines, pumps, belts, fans, air handling units, VAV and fan powered boxes.
- Maintain the safe operation of systems including electronic/pneumatic environmental controls, oil/gas fired water tube boilers, and auxiliary equipment such as various types of pumps, de‑aerating tanks, air compressor blowers, etc.
- Examine environmental controls and stationary systems to diagnose problems using proper inspection/testing and monitoring techniques while exhibiting safe and proper use of tools.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and according to the standards of CGL Facility Maintenance, OSHA, and our clients.
- Inspect completed work for self and other technicians' conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
- Escort subcontractors during completion of their work at the site.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed by CGL Facility Management, LLC.
- Serve as a mentor, trainer, and inspector to the work of other HVAC and General Trades technicians.
- Travel to other facilities to help resolve specific maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
- Complete all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned.
- Provide training to technicians in the basics of your trade and offer mentorship, oversight and direction.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4‑6 years of commercial HVAC and building maintenance experience required.
- Refrigeration experience preferred.
- Previous experience managing others preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read blueprints and as‑built drawings.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional on‑call shifts.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug test and criminal background check.
- Microsoft Office skills required.
- Self‑motivated team player who multitasks, prioritizes, and demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially interacting effectively with clients.
- Ability to quickly become familiar with the design and layout of the facilities, learn locations of installed environmental control and monitoring systems/equipment, and understand operating procedures relating to environmental controls.
- EPA Certification required.
- HVAC Certification preferred.
- State issued HVAC license required.
