Seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician with a can‑do attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and an active EPA Certification.
Job Responsibilities- Diagnose causes of problems and failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and food service equipment to identify repair or replacement needs.
- Perform maintenance, service repairs, install new units, or replace parts of existing units according to specifications of 15 tons+.
- Maintain larger PM contracts with more than 5 units.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and controls.
- Service and troubleshoot mini‑splits and/or replace smaller RTUs and mini‑splits for 15 tons or less.
- Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for customers.
- Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered.
- Continual learning and development via First Call Academy to maintain industry skill level.
- Deliver elite level of customer service to uphold the First Call reputation.
- Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Active EPA Certification.
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial HVAC setting.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Manufacturer Certification preferred.
- Availability for flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Language Skills – Read and comprehend simple instructions, write correspondence, effectively communicate with customers, and report issues to account managers.
- Mathematical Skills – Add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret graphs.
- Reasoning Ability – Apply common sense to carry out instructions, handle multiple concrete variables, prioritize tasks, and lead helpers and techs.
The employee regularly uses hands, stands, walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustments.
Organizational AlignmentThis position reports to the local Service Manager and engages with the service team and all customers.
