GARNEY CONSTRUCTION – Pipelayer

We are seeking an experienced Pipelayer to assemble, install, and repair underground pipes and fittings. The role involves working with metallic, plastic, ductile iron, steel, and concrete pipes for water, sewer, and drain projects.

• Prepare the area for pipe laying by directing trenching and grading
• Perform required laborer functions as needed
• Assist equipment operators in pipe placement
• Direct equipment operators with hand signals
• Backfill around pipe using hand tools
• Set up and work with pipe lasers and transits
• Locate and mark the correct position of pipe and fittings in an underground trench
• Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipe composed of metal, PVC, ductile, and concrete
• Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and plastic solvent cement
• Test pipes for leakage and measure and cut pipe as required
• Promote Garney’s goals and philosophies

• At least two years of experience installing large-diameter pipes for water, sewer, and storm drain projects
• Willingness to complete trainings and certifications provided by Garney, such as Rigging and Signaling Certification, Confined Space Training Certification, and OSHA 10‑hour
• Willingness to travel out of state and work overtime
