Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full‑time, experienced Welder to perform repairs and fabricate heavy construction and mining equipment at our Buhl branch.
Hours:
M-F 3:00PM – 11:30PM.
$27.00 to $45.00 per hour. The starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay may vary by up to 10% based on the applicant’s location.

- Perform welding and fabrication.
- Maintain equipment – dressing welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, setting machine parameters, changing tooling and other adjustments.
- Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards.
- Collaborate with and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting and repairs.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge.
- Pre‑employment drug test required; role is deemed safety‑sensitive.
- 2‑year technical college degree, certificate in welding or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2years of comparable welding experience.
- Ability to operate spot welder, arc welder, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sander, hand‑tools, bandsaw, drills, temporary fixturing devices, and other metal‑fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read dimensional blueprints.
- Experience with gauging and measuring preferred.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members.
- Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
- Own mechanic tool set.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Push/pull up to 50lbs.
- Lift/carry up to 60lbs.
- Lift bulky objects.
- Wearing a positive airflow mask while working.
- Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.
Work may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
