R&D Partners is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join the Global Tax - EUCAN Tax group at a leading biotechnology company. This role is critical in advising and managing the company's tax position across a selected group of European countries, including Eastern Europe. The position will focus on tax audits, compliance, litigation, transfer pricing, and providing strategic advice to business partners.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the business, bridging global tax functional leads and regional finance teams while balancing local and global considerations.

Responsibilities- Build and maintain relationships with business partners in the region, analyzing tax implications for transactions and providing high-quality tax support.
- Ensure professional and transparent communication with tax authorities at all levels.
- Oversee corporate income tax compliance and audit defense, coordinating with the Business Solutions Hub in Poland and local tax service providers.
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate tax risks.
- Lead tax audits, aligning information requests with global tax functional leads and developing audit defense strategies.
- Streamline and monitor procedures for indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and other tax matters.
- Monitor legislative changes in the region and assess their material impact on the business.
- Evaluate tax risks and recommend mitigating actions.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong tax technical expertise.
- Ability to analyze complex matters and present decision‑making options.
- Effective communication and influence skills across finance, business, and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage tax compliance, audits, and litigation.
- Innovative mindset to reduce complexity and improve processes.
Required:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law;
Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or Law preferred, with a specialization in Taxation. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax position.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and fiscal frameworks in the region, including Eastern Europe.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting for income taxes.
- Fluent in English;
German is an advantage.
Preferred:
- CPA or certification as a tax specialist.
- Relevant experience in the global life sciences industry.
- Familiarity with Shared Services concepts.
- Public accounting experience.
- Fluency in one Eastern European language.
