Position: Group CO₂ Specialist (m/w/d)

Group CO₂ Specialist

As our Group CO₂ Specialist, you will help shape how the Liebherr Group measures, manages, and advances its climate ambitions. In this hands‑on, cross‑functional role, you will strengthen our decarbonisation efforts, improve emissions data quality and governance, and translate strategic CO₂ goals into operational reality across 13 product segments. You are analytical, pragmatic and collaborative. You thrive at the intersection of data, strategy, and leadership, partnering closely with engineering, operations, sustainability, finance, and top management to deliver measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Group‑Level CO₂ Measurement & Reporting
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Group‑wide CO₂ accounting and reporting processes.
  • Help ensure alignment with key reporting frameworks such as CSRD, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and other relevant standards.
  • Contribute to the consolidation of emissions data across all product segments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
  • Support the reporting of climate‑related disclosures for annual and sustainability reports.
  • CO₂ Governance & Strategy: define, implement, and oversee the Group’s CO₂ governance framework, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and decision‑making structures.
  • Support the integration of CO₂ considerations into business planning, product development, and operational processes.
  • Support Group‑wide decarbonisation initiatives, including target‑setting, technical assessments, and roadmap development.
  • Evaluate, propose, and help implement CO₂ reduction opportunities across the value chain.
  • Monitor progress against Group targets and track the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Act as the central coordination point between Group‑level teams and local expert teams across all product segments.
  • Facilitate knowledge‑sharing, methodology alignment, and consistent CO₂ management practices throughout the Group.
  • Support top management with decision‑making by providing insights, data analyses, and strategic recommendations.
  • Help develop and deliver training, workshops, and guidance materials across the Group including briefings for leadership and updates for broader internal specialist and non‑specialist audiences.
Competencies
  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in sustainability, CO₂ strategy, environmental management, or related fields.
  • Experience with CSRD and GHG Protocol required. SBTi, Ecovadis and related reporting or assessment frameworks are a strong asset.
  • Practical experience with decarbonisation measures, CO₂ strategy development, and target setting. Experience with product carbon footprint or life‑cycle assessment would be an asset.
  • Experience working with or presenting to top management is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a multinational corporate environment is an advantage; experience in the construction industry or similar is preferred.
  • University degree in a technical, economic, business, or sustainability‑related field.
  • Strong analytical and data skills capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
  • Structured, detail‑oriented and collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with both Group‑level and local expert teams.
  • English fluency required in writing and speaking. German fluency is considered a strong advantage.
