Bullhead City Elementary School District is seeking a highly qualified 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher for Fox Creek Jr. High School. This role focuses on creating an inspiring and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and engagement.
Reporting to: Principal
Supervises: Teacher’s Aides and Volunteers as assigned.
Job Goal: Help students learn subject matter and/or skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults. Lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth.
This position requires certification by the Arizona Department of Education.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Bachelor degree preferred).
- Current Teacher certification as set by the Arizona Department of Education.
- Positive recommendations from past employers and/or training institutions.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the student.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Diagnose learning abilities and/or problems of students on a regular basis, seeking assistance of district specialists as required.
- Assist administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct; develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom fairly and justly.
- Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers and evaluate their job performance cooperatively with department heads.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend departmental meetings and serve on departmental committees as required.
- Implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through instruction and action.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
A maximum of 190 working days per school year. Salary and workdays to be established by the Board approved schedules.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
