Job Overview

New increased rates and relocation assistance. Full‑time schedule with call. Registered Nurse position in the Cath Lab of Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. Willing to train an experienced ICU or Tele RN looking to learn or expand skills.

The Cardiac Catheterization Department contains two rooms. One is a "Million Dollar Renovation" completed in 2022 where patients are prepped for procedures and recovered post‑procedure. The team works with high‑risk, high‑acuity patients and prides itself on superb outcomes.

• Provide quality care to patients before, during, and after cardiac procedures, including catheterizations, PCI, Impella, IABP, CTO, lithotripsy, rotational atherectomy, laser technology, PFO closures, thrombectomies, and pulmonary embolism extraction.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, administer medications, monitor for side effects, and document all care in compliance with standards of practice.
• Assist physicians during procedures, closely monitor vital signs, hemodynamic data, and sedation levels, and ensure proper functioning of equipment and supplies.
• Respond to medical emergencies, participate in life‑saving interventions such as CPR and code team activities.
• Advocate for patients’ rights, provide education to patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care.
• Maintain infection control protocols, monitor and operate medical equipment, and promote patient safety following National Patient Safety Goals.
• Participate in audits, chart reviews, compliance checks, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned, maintain regular attendance, and comply with all policies and standards.

• Review medical history, assess overall health, and prepare patients for the procedure.
• Initiate and maintain intravenous lines for medication administration.
• Educate patients and families about the procedure and what to expect.
• Verify that surgical consents have been signed.

• Assist the cardiologist during the catheterization process.
• Closely monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamic data, and sedation levels.
• Ensure proper functioning of equipment and supplies.
• Manage potential complications and respond to emergencies.

• Continue to monitor vital signs and overall condition after the procedure.
• Administer post‑procedure medications as needed.

• 0–2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN – Registered Nurse with state licensure and/or Compact State licensure.
• BCLS – Basic Life Support required.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.
• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
• Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
