Senior Accountant; Sap​/End Close​/Sales Tax

Join Our Finance Team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Burbank, CA finance team. This is a hands‑on role for an accounting professional with strong general accounting experience, hands‑on month‑end close ownership, SAP accounting experience, and multi‑state sales tax compliance exposure who enjoys working in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role will take ownership of key accounting functions including month‑end close, general ledgers, reconciliations, multi‑state sales tax compliance, commissions, intercompany accounting, royalties, and audit support.

• Own critical aspects of the month‑end close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, amortization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support preparation and filing of multi‑state sales tax returns and maintain resale tax exemption certificates.
• Respond to tax notices and support compliance‑related inquiries.
• Calculate and analyze commissions for the sales organization and prepare royalty calculations.
• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure balances are accurate and properly recorded.
• Review budget‑to‑actual variances and identify accrual or reclassification adjustments as needed.
• Support year‑end audit preparation and internal/external audit requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Partner cross‑functionally with finance and operational teams on special projects as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Hands‑on SAP accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong month‑end close ownership experience.
• Experience with multi‑state sales tax preparation/compliance.
• Strong general ledger accounting and reconciliation experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and large data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience in wholesale distribution, consumer products, fashion, or similar industries.
• Commission accounting experience.

This is a full‑time onsite position based in Burbank, California. Periodic extended hours may be required during month‑end close, year‑end close, audit periods, budgeting cycles, and inventory‑related activities.
