Bang Zoom! Studios is an award-winning, full-service audio post-production studio specializing in English-language dubbing of anime and animation, as well as voice-over and post-production services for film, television, and video games. We are a fast-paced, collaborative, and people-first studio where process, creativity, and care for one another matter.

We’re looking for a highly organized Production Assistant with fluent to near-fluent Japanese to support our Post-Production team. This role blends administrative support, production coordination, and client-facing communication, and is ideal for someone early in their career who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to grow in post‑production. This position is a 6‑month temporary role, with the potential for full‑time hire based on performance and business needs.

Compensation

$18.00 – $22.00 per hour. Compensation within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Upon successful completion of the temporary period and conversion to full‑time employment, employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.

Japanese Language Requirement

This role requires fluency to near-fluency in Japanese, including the ability to understand professional and business-level Japanese. Conversational-only Japanese is not sufficient for this role.

The Production Assistant Will
  • Support communication involving Japanese-facing materials or clients
  • Read and interpret professionally written Japanese
  • Assist with culturally appropriate communication and workflow support
About

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Production and Project Managers, the Production Assistant supports day-to-day post‑production operations, helps coordinate projects, and ensures clear communication across teams. This role is a key connector between internal staff, external partners, and clients. You’ll help keep projects organized, on track, and moving forward—while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional post‑production studio environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Coordinators and Managers with day‑to‑day coordination of post‑production projects
  • Maintain clear internal and external communication related to schedules, assets, and deliverables
  • Help facilitate efficient production workflows and identify areas for improvement

    Track project details including timelines, assets, deliverables, and key information
  • Schedule and attend project meetings; prepare notes and follow‑ups as needed
  • Assist with scripts, documentation, and production materials
  • Review and help organize deliverables prepared by internal teams
  • Support client services and help maintain a professional studio environment
  • Resolve or escalate issues in a timely and tactful manner
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and support of new team members
  • Perform additional production or administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 6 months–3 years of experience in production, post‑production, project coordination, or administrative support preferred (entry‑level candidates encouraged)
  • Working knowledge of the entertainment, anime, TV, or video game industries is a plus
  • Proficient with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Comfortable learning new tools and production systems
