St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is seeking a passionate and creative Part-Time Music Teacher to serve students in grades TK–8. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music while supporting the spiritual and academic mission of Catholic education.

The Music Teacher will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in general music, rhythm, vocal performance, and basic music literacy. The position also includes preparing students for school liturgies, the annual Christmas Show, and special events.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach general music classes to students in grades TK–8
• Develop age-appropriate lessons in vocal music, rhythm, movement, and music theory fundamentals
• Prepare and direct students for school performances, prayer services, and liturgical celebrations
• Integrate Catholic identity and seasonal liturgical music into instruction
• Foster a positive, structured, and joyful classroom environment
• Collaborate with faculty and administration
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff

• Bachelor’s degree required (Music, Music Education, or related field preferred)
• Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school music preferred
• Ability to lead vocal music and accompany (piano or guitar skills strongly preferred)
• Knowledge of Catholic liturgical music and traditions preferred
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education (practicing Catholic preferred)
• Completion of required ADLA fingerprinting and Virtus training
• Cover letter detailing your interest in Catholic education and teaching math

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
