ELA and Social Studies Jr. High Teacher ( Catholic school ) – Salary range: $48,823–$53,532.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging ELA and Social Studies instruction to junior high students in a Catholic school setting.
  • Implement instruction aligned with ELA and History curricula; use evidence-based strategies for reading, writing, literacy development, and student assessment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and faith-aligned learning environment that supports academic, spiritual, and personal growth.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs; monitor progress and adjust instructional practices accordingly.
  • Utilize educational technology and learning management systems to enhance instruction, communication, and student engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and school leadership to support student success and mission of Catholic education.
  • Complete required background checks and diocesan safe environment training.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, History, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching credential or eligibility to obtain one, as required by state and diocesan regulations (preferred).
  • Experience teaching at the middle school or junior high level preferred.
  • Knowledge of ELA and History curricula, instructional strategies, and student assessment practices.
  • Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to integrating Catholic values into daily instruction and supporting the mission of Catholic education.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems.
Compensation

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
