POSITION SUMMARY The Youth & Family Coordinator is responsible for creating welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environments that foster belonging, familyengagement, youth development, and positive experiences for children and families. Under the direction of the supervisor, the Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of youth and family programs and services, including youth enrichment classes, parent-child programs, family engagement activities, Family nights, special events, Child Activity Center operations, and other youth and family initiatives.

Responsibilities include cultivating meaningful relationships with children, families, volunteers, and community partners; supporting program quality and participant engagement; coordinating class schedules and program logistics; assisting with curriculum implementation and development supporting participant recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts and providing operational and administrative support for the Youth & Family Department. The Coordinator also assists with staff support, volunteer engagement, event planning, program promotion, and the implementation of strategies that strengthen family connections, participation, belonging, and positive outcomes for youth and families.

The Youth & Family Coordinator serves as a key support to the department, helping ensure high quality programs, exceptional participant experiences, and strong alignment with the YMCA's mission to strengthen communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility,ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Create a welcoming and supportive environment for all children, youth, families, volunteers,interns, staff, and community participants. Take time to build relationships, foster belonging, andcreate positive experiences that encourage continued engagement with YMCA programs and services.
2, Plan, coordinate, and deliver high quality youth and family programs aligned with YMCA curriculum,program goals, and community needs, including youth enrichment classes, parent- child programs,family engagement activities, family nights, special events, Child Activity Center services, andother youth and family initiatives. Spends approximately 50-70% of time teaching classes.
3. Facilitate youth development, family engagement, character development, and enrichmentexperiences that promote belonging, achievement, healthy relationships, lifelong learning, and positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.
4, Responsible for building small communities by facilitating connections with and between program participants, families, volunteers, interns, staff, schools, and community partners.
5. Maintain program records, provide program information, support class scheduling, and assist withparticipant recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts.
6. Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, supervision, and recognition of volunteers, interns, and high school interns in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
7. Coordinate and support youth enrichment classes, parent-child programs, family events, familyengagement activities, Child Activity Center operations, community engagement opportunities, andother assigned programs while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive experience for all participants.
8, Assist with administrative and operational functions including, but not limited to, scheduling,curriculum support, program documentation, preparing reports, maintaining program records, and supporting the daily operations of the Youth & Family Department.
9. Assist with staff supervision, training recommendations, appropriate staff coaching, and providediscipline recommendations to Director when necessary.
10. Respond promptly and courteously to all complaints, questions, compliments, and inquiries while following appropriate YMCA procedures and providing excellent customer service.
11. Maintain close visual supervision of assigned program participants and ensure that appropriateparticipant-to-staff ratios are maintained in accordance with YMCA policies and program requirements.
