Driving School Instructor

The Auto Club of Southern California, a leading AAA motor club and insurer, is seeking a Driving School Instructor to deliver safe, high-quality driver education to members. In this field-based role, you will provide both behind-the-wheel and classroom instruction, teaching California traffic laws, insurance-related risk awareness, and defensive driving practices. You will evaluate student skills, document progress, and ensure strict safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide behind-the-wheel and classroom driving instruction following state laws and company standards
• Ensure student and public safety through constant vigilance and defensive driving best practices
• Evaluate student driving skills and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate training records, progress notes, and required compliance documentation
• Communicate professionally with members, parents, and internal teams about training schedules and performance
• Operate training vehicles safely, performing basic inspections before and after lessons
• Stay current on California traffic laws, DMV regulations, and road safety practices
• Support Auto Club safety and community initiatives as needed
