Role and Scope

What is the scope of this person's responsibilities?

To assist the New Product Development (NPD) team in daily work and to complete special assignments. The Program Management (PM) function has responsibility for new product development, new customer acquisition, fiscal/contractual requirements flow-down and management, IPT team leadership, and providing commercial oversight and guidance to internal functions. This role reports to the Head of Commercial Strategy with dotted-line supervision by one or more Program Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Support the NPD team in developing new products, supporting existing products, and improving team and company efficiency.
  • Commercial support of development programs (drive and close program/project action items).
  • Program management contributions toward program execution.
  • Production support (expediting production activities, logistics, issue resolution).
  • Customer support (preparing program material for customer review).
  • Process improvement, automation, and standardization (identify opportunities, capture quick wins).
  • Data reduction and analysis (trend analysis, opportunity identification, data-driven storytelling).
Qualifications
  • A student working toward, or recently graduated with, a BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics. Other technical degrees may be considered.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to apply first principles of engineering and physics to unfamiliar problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical competence with examples of execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex projects into actionable tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Internship Expectations
  • Works hourly, 12–29 hours per week; schedule is flexible to account for coursework and must be agreed with the direct supervisor.
  • Works on-site, typically in a cubicle environment.
  • Will complete at least one primary project during the term, which will be reported and presented in a team review environment.
Compensation and Benefits

Target Hourly Rate = $25.00 /hr

Monday - Friday Part-Time, 1st Shift. We offer a competitive compensation package including base salary, comprehensive benefits, wellness benefits, matching 401K, and paid time off.

Trade Compliance
