Financial Analyst
The Studio Ultimates team is responsible for consolidating ultimates and managing APR expense for Studio content films from Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel, 20th Century, Searchlight, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation.
We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst that will play a key role in deploying and implementing new systems and tools for the Studio Ultimates finance team. Initiatives include automating financial consolidation tasks, integrating existing processes with a new enterprise performance management (EPM) system, and exploring new data-driven forecasting methods. This role offers a great opportunity to build and partner with finance teams across various lines of businesses (theatrical, home entertainment, music, etc.).
Responsibilities- Consolidating and analyzing the ultimates (10-year P&L projections) for each Studio film in compliance with FASB ASC 926, focusing on management reporting and the accuracy of the participations and residuals estimates
- Building and maintaining automation scripts to streamline quarter-close processes, in conjunction with finance transformation initiatives
- Developing a new ultimate financial trending tool (inception-to-date/remaining-to-go) using data-driven approaches
- Calculating participation and residual cost ultimate models for each Studio film based on contractual deal points for the film’s key talent and co-producing studios
- Ad-hoc reporting as requested to support senior management and business partners
- Systems: strong knowledge of Excel required, EPM experience preferred; database management skills (e.g., SQL) and coding (e.g., Python) a plus
- Analysis: ability to identify trends and patterns using data-driven approaches, ability to prepare causes of change with an attention to detail
- Communication: strong written and verbal communication skills with partners across the company
- Multi-tasker: strong organizational and troubleshooting skills, ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting, with some statistical coursework)
- 2+ of experience in forecasting and planning, and/or accounting, with data analytics and database tools
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL, and financial systems such as SAP/Cognos required
- Experience with Python and Tableau a plus
The hiring range for this position in California is $-$ per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
