Farmers Insurance Federal Credit Union (FIGFCU) is looking for a strategic product and capital markets leader to help shape the next phase of our credit union’s growth.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role partners across Finance, Lending, Treasury, Technology, and fintech providers to drive strong product performance, support capital markets activity, and deliver scalable, member-focused solutions. The ideal candidate brings a blend of product management discipline, financial acumen, and collaborative leadership to help strengthen earnings, liquidity, and long-term sustainability.

Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Product & Capital Markets Strategy is responsible for the strategic development, performance, and profitability of the credit union’s loan and deposit products, with a strong focus on capital markets, balance sheet optimization, and fintech partnerships. This highly visible role owns product-level P&L and serves as a strategic bridge between Finance, Lending, Treasury, Technology, and external fintech providers.

The position drives product strategy aligned with the credit union’s growth objectives, risk appetite, and member needs, while supporting long-term balance sheet strength, liquidity, and earnings performance. The position is responsible for developing fintech partnerships and serves as an intermediary and strategist, facilitating the selling of loan participations to grow income, optimize the balance sheet, and manage liquidity. The position brings a combination of capital markets expertise, product management discipline, and fintech experience to support growth, diversification, loan sales, and long-term sound balance sheet and income statement performance.

The ideal candidate brings deep financial services expertise, strong product management discipline, and capital markets acumen to deliver scalable, member-centric solutions that enhance both financial performance and competitive positioning.

Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Management
  • Own full P&L accountability for assigned loan and deposit products.
  • Develop and execute product strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned with the credit union’s strategic plan, growth goals, and risk appetite.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, ALM, Lending, Digital, IT, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing to ensure successful product delivery and performance.
  • Analyze product performance using financial, market, and member data to optimize pricing, features, and positioning.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to growth, profitability, penetration, and member engagement.
  • Lead go-to-market strategies and support product launches, enhancements, and refreshes.
  • Ensure all products align with regulatory requirements and internal policies while supporting innovation.
Capital Markets & Balance Sheet Support
  • Support capital markets strategies including loan sales, participations, securitizations, derivatives, and liquidity management tools.
  • Collaborate with ALCO, Finance, and Treasury teams on strategies to optimize the balance sheet, enhance liquidity, mitigate interest rate risk, and improve earnings.
  • Evaluate and implement fintech loan solutions that strategically grow loan originations and enhance the performance of the income statement and balance sheet.
  • Assist with vendor analytics, pricing models, and performance monitoring.
Fintech & Vendor Partnerships
  • Lead strategic fintech partnerships related to lending, loan trading, treasury, payments, and digital financial solutions.
  • Serve as the primary business owner for assigned third-party vendors, overseeing performance, governance, and value realization.
  • Participate in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and implementation governance.
Leadership, Governance & Communication
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technology teams to translate strategic objectives into clear requirements.
  • Participate in project governance, steering committees, and executive working groups.
  • Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal risk reviews related to assigned products and vendors.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting, business cases, and Board or committee materials as needed.
