Team Description

This role is on the Data Platform Engineer Team, responsible for day‑to‑day management and oversight of the technologies and services supporting data and analytic platforms across the enterprise. The team covers financial, HCM, legal, tax, and intellectual property domains through data integration, data warehouse, data lakes, and analytics & reporting on cloud‑based and on‑prem platforms. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise and functional experience with the assigned platforms and will work with technology partners and business stakeholders.

What

You’ll Do Solution Support
  • Act as the technology subject matter expert, partnering with stakeholders and clients to address issues and recommend or implement enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve production‑related issues from end‑user to persistence layer.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to service delivery and proactively address issues before they impact service levels.
  • Drive technical recovery of major system outages and interface with vendors or outsourced teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to enable efficient support and future request assessment.
  • Monitor service performance and recommend focus areas for continuous improvement, including application performance management.
  • Participate in on‑call schedule or rotations (where applicable).
Vendor Management
  • Oversee vendors/partners in resolving incidents, problems, and requests, ensuring service‑level and quality targets are met.
  • Gather requirements for minor enhancements and oversee resulting products from vendors.
  • Implement continuous improvement on existing technical solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of agile development methodologies and Dev Ops practices with automated testing.
  • Partner with the application security team on “security by design” implementations.
  • Collaborate with QA, UX, and release project managers to deliver high‑quality products on time.
  • Participate in problem‑analysis meetings and post‑implementation reviews to document learnings.
Engineering Support
  • Design and implement technology solutions with Solution Architects, product and engineering managers.
  • Champion operational excellence in technology delivery and support functions.
  • Ensure application solutions meet capacity, performance, and availability expectations.
  • Coordinate the development and ongoing maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop and maintain the technology currency roadmap.
  • Define engineering support best practices and provide technical mentorship.
  • Oversee security and vulnerability management activities.
  • Research third‑party products and solutions for added business value.
  • Initiate new technology analysis for application initiatives.
  • Maintain moderate technical expertise through continuous learning.
  • Maintain awareness of standards, guidelines, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, including at least 5 years in software development activities such as deployment, load/performance testing, and integration testing.
  • Deep technical expertise in SAP, data pipeline, and Snowflake on the respective platform/service.
  • Experience with formal change management processes.
  • Experience working within an agile framework.
  • Business acumen with deep expertise in the Finance and HCM domains and related technology skills.
  • Proven negotiating and consensus‑building abilities.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Experience with a variety of software development life‑cycle methodologies, both waterfall and agile.
  • Exemplary communication skills.
Leadership Skills
  • A self‑starter who navigates complex organizational structures and drives results through influence and collaboration.
  • Establishes and manages effective working relationships in a matrix environment with department, group, and staff coordination.
