The Post Systems Technician II is responsible for providing technical support to on-premise and remote users for systems including AVID and Jump Desktop. This role also maintains post-production editorial and related systems such as NAS and NEXIS, while working closely with Post Production Management, Remote Technical Support, and IT teams. The Post Systems Technician II reports directly to the Director of Technical Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Technical Support:
Provide daily support for both remote and on-premise users via ticketing system. - Testing & Troubleshooting:
Optimizing hardware components interacting with AVID software, video capture devices, storage & networking systems, resolving software bugs and providing guidance on best practices. - Maintenance and Upgrades:
Performing routine maintenance tasks on AVID, OS, Nexis & NAS, software installations, including updates/patches and firmware upgrades. - Server Room Troubleshooting:
Basic networking skills (patching, switches), failed drive swaps, monitoring heat and health alerts. - Quality Assurance:
Testing to ensure reliability, stability and performance of new software releases, identifying and reporting bugs or issues, providing feedback to Post Management. - Installation of software applications, licenses, settings configurations and ensuring compatibility with support software and hardware components.
- Additional duties, as required in the support of maintaining post production equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in film production, media studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years as hands-on Technician in post-production.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of Avid/Nexis, Resolve workflows.
- Knowledge of operating systems and network file sharing protocols such as NFS, SMB/CIFS.
- Understanding of Linux distributions, including CentOS, Ubuntu, and Red Hat.
- Self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize based on the overall departmental needs.
