Vice President, Information Security Strategy, Engineering, and Architecture

Job Summary

At Disney, we are storytellers. We make the impossible, possible. The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) is a world‑class entertainment and technology leader. Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world, a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies, streaming services and a variety of other businesses.

Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance and protect these exciting experiences.

The Global Information Security (GIS) team plays a critical role in protecting Disney’s brand, data, and systems. We partner across the enterprise to assess risk, set standards, and deliver security solutions that both protect the business and enable innovation.

The Vice President, Information Security Strategy, Engineering, and Architecture is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Disney’s global information security strategy. This leader will drive the adoption of modern security technologies, establish a consistent approach to architecture and solution design, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across the company.

This role also leads the ongoing evaluation and improvement of Disney’s security ecosystem across all environments—cloud, applications, infrastructure, and physical systems—to ensure the company stays ahead of evolving threats. Success in this role requires a strong balance of technical depth, business partnership, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and executive leadership.

What You Will Do
  • Set the enterprise security vision. Own and evolve Disney’s global information security strategy, architecture, and roadmap across cloud, applications, networks, data, and emerging technologies.
  • Embed security into the business. Act as a strategic, consultative partner to business and technology leaders—translating complex cyber risk into clear business and enterprise risk decisions for executives and boards.
  • Lead technology strategy and innovation. Evaluate and integrate modern security capabilities, including AI/ML-based detection, IoT, and new platforms supporting Disney’s digital and physical experiences.
  • Drive risk governance and assurance. Establish and oversee security governance, metrics, and risk management frameworks spanning cybersecurity, privacy, SOX, resilience, and third‑party risk.
  • Build and lead globally. Lead senior teams responsible for security architecture and consultative engagement, fostering inclusive leadership and strong cross‑segment relationships worldwide.
  • Engage at the executive level. Prepare and deliver cybersecurity and IT risk updates to senior executives, audit committees, and other key governance bodies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in cybersecurity, risk, and technology for large, complex, global organizations; prior CISO experience preferred.
  • Deep technical foundation across infrastructure, software, cloud, data, and modern digital platforms paired with strong business judgment and executive presence.
  • Proven ability to translate technical threats and vulnerabilities into enterprise and brand risk for C‑suite and board audiences.
  • Experience operating in highly matrixed environments where influence, partnership, and trust are critical.
  • Familiarity with leading security, privacy, and risk frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT, GDPR); relevant certifications are a plus.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced degree in the above fields preferred.
