Summary overview
The operations supervisor is a key position responsible for supervising day-to-day airport operations and ensuring that all procedures are carried out efficiently and safely. This role involves managing a team of operations personnel, coordinating with various airport departments, and overseeing activities such as flight scheduling, gate assignments, and ground handling services. The supervisor also ensures compliance with all aviation regulations and standards and is involved in training and developing the operations team.
Additionally, this position requires quick decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in handling operational disruptions and emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily airport operations and ensure efficient workflow
- Monitor adherence to operational procedures and safety regulations
- Lead and manage the operations team, including scheduling and task allocation
- Coordinate with various departments to optimize service delivery
- Address and resolve operational issues and emergencies swiftly
- Provide training and guidance to staff for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with aviation standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of operational areas
- Liaise with airline representatives and airport authorities for coordinated efforts
- Oversee the management of equipment and resources for operations
- Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints and feedback regarding airport services
- Prepare and analyze reports on operational performance
- Participate in the development and updating of operational policies
- Facilitate team meetings and communicate updates to staff
- Exemplify Prime Flight customer service and safety standards
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in airport operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of airport operational procedures and regulatory requirements
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
