$3000 Sign-on Bonus
Location: San Fernando Vallely, CA
Starting on first shift (5:30 am – 6 am or earlier if OT needed) for training. Differential applied when moved to second shift. Second Shift Hours are Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Overtime may adjust start time (e.g., 3:00 PM for extended overtime) and/or extend end time. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
ITAR US Person Required – HS Degree or GED Required
Job family: Precision Grinder, Level I–III
Statutory eligibility: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Responsibilities- Precision Grinder Level I — Operates precision grinding machines to produce parts according to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Performs basic outside diameter (OD) and surface grinding operations using manual or basic CNC cylindrical OD grinders that are already set up. Uses micrometers and similar gauges to verify results for thickness and diameter. Basic understanding of GD&T. Completes all required inspection and in-process verification paperwork to ensure traceability of results.
Observes condition of tooling and escalates any out of family conditions for review. Operates equipment, pauses jobs as needed and escalates concerns to ensure safety and first-time quality. Documents and applies feedback from level two and three associates to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency requirements. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management. - Precision Grinder Level II — Performs basic setup, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC OD grinders and manual grinding machines. Uses gauges to verify cylindricity, surface finish, and other characteristics. Makes minor adjustments to ensure cylindricity and surface finish requirements are met. Correlates machine settings with size, cylindricity, and surface finish results. Selects and modifies tooling and part holding/fixturing techniques for moderately complex jobs.
Demonstrates proficiency in computing machine offsets and related adjustments to meet process control. Completes inspection and in-process documentation. May support training of Level I associates. - Precision Grinder Level III — Setup, daily maintenance, and in-depth troubleshooting of /OD grinders, form grinders, and related equipment. Performs advanced verification using flow benches, gauges, leakage measurements, and other analyses. Develops new routings and techniques; selects feeds, speeds, and media to meet blueprint requirements. Configures baseline machine settings and tooling to achieve tight tolerances; collaborates with engineering and internal customers.
Partners with Level III and other teams to ensure safe and efficient operation. May support training of Level I and II associates. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Experience: Level I — Experience in a machine shop or similar work environment preferred but not required. Level II — Minimum two years of experience with precision ground assemblies. Level III — Minimum five years of experience with precision ground assemblies.
- Knowledge: Understanding of GD&T, gaging practices, and related inspection requirements.
- Skills/Abilities: Mechanical aptitude; ability to read blueprints and perform basic metrology and adjustments.
- Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent.

- CNC Grinding equipment experience using FANUC or equivalent controls
