Position Summary
Set up and fit detailed parts on aircraft, aerospace and similar assemblies. Performs hand grinding, expanding and hand fitting to blueprint dimensions for heliarc tacking, welding and/or resistance welding.
Responsibilities- Performs typical operations such as aligning machined details or stampings preparatory to welding operations.
- Trims, scribes, files or grinds parts to templates or scribed lines.
- Sets up single jobs in assembly jig for welding.
- Assists higher classified workers as required.
- Performs rework, repair and other associated operations relating to the work described.
- Maintain minimum output of 65%.
- Maintain minimum product quality acceptance of 90%.
- Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.
- High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 3–6 months of related and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Also, must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Have knowledge of the forming characteristics of metals and their reactions when heat is applied. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply a general sense of understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Also, ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. - Mathematical Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. - Other Abilities:
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Tacking Certificate.
- Set up and operate metal expander, hand or pedestal grinder, and large or small band saw.
- Emery cloth, clamps, cleaning solvent, welding gases, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys in the form of sheet tubular stock, and machined and formed parts.
- Access to our facility and therefore employment is restricted under the international Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents of the United States and properly licensed foreign persons.
Monday – Friday, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm
