American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and ACLS, BCLS, and NRP certifications.

• Acute care hospital setting with 392 staffed beds
• Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 births per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required, 4 shifts per schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Floating between like units and sister facilities required
• Uses Epic and Mediteach charting systems

• Active CA RN license required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with antepartum care and procedures, obstetrical triage, and external fetal heart monitoring (EFM)
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovering C-section patients, and performing sterile vaginal exams
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum management and high-risk delivery support
• Circulate and recover patients for C-sections as part of unit responsibilities
• Any scrub color accepted
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel pay rate
• Local candidates within the radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration, as post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
• Candidates must respond to a question regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent staff, traveler, or per-diem
