American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 3x12 day-shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.

• Acute care hospital setting with 392 staffed beds
• Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 births per month
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required, 4 shifts per schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between like units and sister facilities within the state
• Charting system used is Meditech, with Epic experience required
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period

• Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for and recovering C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and high-risk delivery support
• Circulate and recover for C-section procedures as needed
• Any scrub color permitted
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
