Microbiology Technician - Burbank, CA
Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking three temporary Microbiology Technicians to assist the Burbank lab on a 4 to 8‑week project. Applicants should have experience in microbial testing and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or nutritional industries.
Location: On‑site in Burbank, CA
Duration: 4 to 8 weeks (temporary)
Pay: $24 per hour
Schedule: M‑F 12–8:30 PM
OverviewThe Microbiology Technician will work under the guidance of the Micro Lab Supervisor to conduct microbiological analyses, troubleshoot cross‑contamination concerns, and support testing procedures that meet industry standards. Responsibilities include performing critical microbial testing on raw materials, bulk finished products, and water samples, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Study bacterial growth, characteristics, and effects on human, plant, and animal health.
- Conduct API strips and troubleshoot contamination issues.
- Adapt and apply procedures from CTFA, AOAC, and other regulatory standards.
- Perform Total Plate Counts, Enrichment Tests, Preservative Effectiveness Testing, and other microbiological assessments.
- Support documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Assist in cross‑functional collaboration and process improvement strategies.
- Education:
B.S. in Microbiology. - Minimum 2 years of microbiological testing experience in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or nutritional industries.
- Understanding of CTFA/PCPC, AOAC, and international regulatory standards (EU, U.S., Japanese Pharmacopeias).
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and adaptability.
