Quality Manager Overview

The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System and ensuring business compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements. They will be accountable for the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the quality systems and procedures which support manufacturing operations, quality and supplier management, documentation, training and auditing. General duties include: AS9100 compliance, internal and external audits, supporting Engineering Investigation Reports, gage calibration, inspection stamp control process and managing customer and supplier quality performance issues.

They will also be responsible for ensuring that all products and paperwork shipping to customers meet drawing requirements and specifications.

Annual Salary: $110,000 - $135,000

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains Quality Management System
  • Compliance with ISO
    9001 / AS9100 quality standards
  • Focal point for customer audits, including corrective actions
  • Performs internal audits and assigns corrective actions
  • Participates in customer required PPAPs, PFMEAs, process flow charts
  • Supports Engineering Investigation Reports
  • Performs quality department training as necessary
  • Maintains stamp control process
  • Maintains approved supplier list
  • Tracks and maintains supplier audit programs, supplier non-conformances
  • Manages various quality projects as necessary
  • Supervises quality control operations to achieve production, cost of quality and safety objectives
  • Ensures quality standards for raw material, work in process, outside processing and finished products
  • Provides work direction for inspection staff
  • Processes non-conforming material reports (NCMRs) to suppliers
  • Supports contract review for Q-Clauses as required
  • Supports continuous improvement of department operations and processes
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Education and Experience
  • BS degree in a field related to Quality Control or equivalent required
  • 3+ years aerospace quality experience; 2+ years leadership required
  • Strong command of basic SPC, MSA, Gage R&R, RCCA
  • Working knowledge of customer and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, ISO
    9001
  • Ability to perform PFMEA and Production Flowcharts
  • Lean knowledge and/or six-sigma certified
  • Experience in report writing and customer communication
  • Experience in aircraft component testing, tear down and analysis preferred

FAR part 21 and FAR-145 a plus
