Manager, Sales & Retail Business Development
Elevate Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products’ (WBDGCP) North America positioning at retail and drive sustainable consumer‑products revenue growth at Non‑Mass Accounts (Grocery, Drug, Value, Off‑Price, Specialty). Report to the Director, Sales & Retail Business Development and work to assist, develop, and execute WBDCP retail sales growth initiatives, while acting as a Sales & Retail Business Development Account Executive, Brand Ambassador, Change Agent, and Influencer.
YourRole Accountabilities
- Work directly with the Director to develop business plans, strategies and revenue goals for Non‑Mass Accounts.
- Develop opportunistic sales strategies in collaboration with licensees and retailers.
- Identify white‑space opportunities to drive incremental revenue.
- Partner with Sales RBD Team/Licensees/Category/Franchise/Retail Marketing/Product Development to develop and execute retail strategies and initiatives.
- Communicate WBDCP licensing and marketing strategies to retail accounts.
- Facilitate collaboration and support the execution of retail programs.
- Analyze retail POS data to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Manage retail programs focused on specific lines of business and revenue goals.
- Maintain weekly team reports, recaps and sales team documents.
- Provide internal and external business retail updates.
- Manage and execute key account planning, budget and quarterly forecasting, partnering with Category/Licensees/Retailers/Franchise/Finance/Retail Analytics/Marketing.
- Assist in joint business plans with retailers and key licensing partners.
- Collaborate with Retail Marketing/Franchise teams to drive retail initiatives and activations.
- Manage ad‑pub budget related to accounts.
- Apply competitive and industry knowledge, trends and data to everyday decision‑making.
- Act as decision maker with guidance from the Director.
- Assist with development and execution of studio swing presentations.
- Present and develop high‑quality retail presentations leveraging franchise strategies, consumer insights, and market trends that support the Warner Bros. brand and franchises.
- Own strong knowledge of corporate strategies, initiatives, e‑commerce and industry trends for Non‑Mass Accounts.
- Drive deliverables at retail utilizing knowledge and understanding of Warner Bros. Discovery corporate initiatives, strategic plans, brands, and franchises.
- Analyze WBDGCP‑Non‑Mass Accounts physical and digital business to develop objectives, growth strategies and market share.
- Identify and develop new business strategies outside of traditional licensing categories with an entrepreneurial approach.
- Align and collaborate with internal teams for retail go‑to‑market initiatives and strategies.
- Develop comprehensive online‑to‑offline marketing plans against priority programs at assigned non‑mass accounts.
- Build and drive an 18‑24 month planning calendar for assigned non‑mass accounts, defining core business and key merchandising moments across brands and franchises.
- Manage ongoing weekly, monthly, and quarterly merchant, licensee and retailer meetings.
- Manage and drive account‑specific retail and e‑commerce initiatives, promotions, campaigns and events in partnership with internal stakeholders and licensees to maximize sell‑in and sell‑through of products.
- At least 5 years of experience in retail‑related buying, product development, and/or sales at a manufacturer, retailer, or licensor.
- At least 5 years of sales and marketing experience in the toys, softlines, hardlines, consumables, or e‑commerce industries.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; MBA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the retail industry, solution selling, and marketing principles.
- Strategic, digital and analytical skills.
- Understanding of social media marketing and e‑commerce trends.
- Strong sales and relationship building, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Proven financial acumen.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with personnel at all levels of a retail organization.
