Strategic Client Director

A new, senior leadership role created to own the growth and health of our largest global enterprise relationships, leading a dedicated team built around three to five of the world's largest multinational infrastructure operators.

The Strategic Client Director is a new, senior leadership role created to own the growth and health of our largest global enterprise relationships. You will lead a dedicated team built specifically around three to five of the world's largest multinational infrastructure operators.

Each account is run day-to-day by an account owner who is deeply embedded in that business, bringing strong technical and operational expertise. This role adds senior commercial leadership to that foundation, setting strategy, building executive relationships, and opening doors at the highest levels of large, matrixed global organizations.

This is a senior people-management role. You will set the commercial strategy for the portfolio, coach your team on account planning and execution, and personally build and run relationships at the executive level within each account, while holding overall accountability for total portfolio growth.

This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer, is hybrid and US-based, and carries extensive travel in support of a small portfolio of large, geographically dispersed global accounts.

What You'll Do
  • Own the total growth number for the strategic accounts portfolio, delivered through a dedicated team built around it.
  • Lead and direct the account owners on your team, each an embedded subject matter expert on their account, coaching their commercial planning, deal structuring, and forecasting discipline.
  • Personally open doors and build relationships at the executive level (C-suite, SVP, VP) within each account, reaching where the account owners' technical depth alone cannot.
  • Bring commercial rigor to every account plan: pricing and deal structure, negotiation strategy, and a credible multi-year growth case for each relationship.
  • Direct the wider account team, including the delivery function that executes on existing commitments, since further growth depends on reliable execution of what's already been promised.
  • Identify and pursue expansion into new geographies, business units, sites and use cases within each parent organization.
  • Own forecasting and portfolio reporting, giving company leadership one accurate, credible view of where each account stands and where growth is coming from.
What You'll Bring Required Skills
  • 10+ years in enterprise account management, strategic account leadership, or a comparable senior commercial role, ideally in SaaS, industrial technology, or B2B technology serving Fortune 500 or equivalent global enterprises.
  • A demonstrated track record of opening doors and securing access at the executive or C-suite level inside large, matrixed global organizations, not just managing relationships once they exist.
  • Strong commercial acumen: deal structuring, negotiation, pricing strategy, and forecasting, with the judgment to build a credible multi-year growth case for a global account.
  • Demonstrated experience as a people manager: a track record of leading and coaching senior account owners, particularly technical or product-depth specialists who need commercial coaching rather than product knowledge.
  • Demonstrated success growing large, complex, multi-region accounts, with a track record of owning and moving a significant revenue growth number, personally or through a team.
  • Experience in energy, oil and gas, mining, utilities, or a related heavy-industry vertical, or a demonstrated ability to build credibility quickly in a technical, safety-conscious operating environment.
  • A track record of directing cross-functional delivery teams to protect and grow client relationships, without being the person delivering the day-to-day work yourself.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively in support of a small number of large, geographically dispersed accounts.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a company transitioning from founder-led or generalist account coverage to a dedicated strategic accounts function.
  • Familiarity with computer vision, drone or robotics technology, or IoT-enabled industrial systems.
  • Experience managing accounts with formal master service agreements and multi-year expansion roadmaps.
  • Multi-region account experience beyond North America.
About You
  • A portfolio-level thinker, not single-deal focused.
  • You lead through others and build team capability, rather than carrying every relationship yourself.
  • You're comfortable being the most senior person clients deal with, and the escalation point for your own team.
  • You believe growth is earned through consistent delivery, not just quarterly numbers.
