Protective Services Senior Manager
The Protective Services Team is part of The Walt Disney Company’s Global Security organization. The Senior Manager uses functional expertise and a strategic, analytical approach to lead the Protective Services program, improving centralized services, building consensus, and championing trust and confidence through integrity, professionalism, and efficiency.
What You Will Do- Primary security service provider and coordinator for security support to the Senior Executive Leadership Team.
- Provide and coordinate direct security support locally and on travel, communicate with executive staff, plan security, assess risks, schedule Protective Services team members and external partners, and manage workplace and residential security projects.
- Lead sophisticated projects that may require policy recommendations, written briefs for executive leadership, and coordination of findings implementation for senior executives and staff.
- Independently plan and handle security trips as a team lead or member.
- Manage relationships with authorities who can influence or provide insight regarding security matters of importance to the company.
- Primary point of contact for executive staff regarding security matters related to senior leadership.
- Supervise day‑to‑day executive protection activities, develop, mentor, and implement protective security policies and procedures.
- Advise, plan support, and schedule internal team members and external partners.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments by developing methods and requirements to standardize, analyze, communicate, and mitigate potential threats.
- Partner with Sourcing and Procurement, Labor Relations, and Legal teams to identify bonded, insured, and licensing‑compliant third‑party security vendors.
- Supervise and assess third‑party vendor compliance to established security requirements, licensing, training, and efficiency.
- Establish relationships and improve business processes to identify partner needs, gaps, and enhance security culture.
- Maintain communication by promptly responding to emails, messages, and phone calls, and ensure company‑issued devices are monitored and accessible.
- Continuously search for ways to improve and position the organization for future success.
- 10+ years of experience in private sector corporate security or related public sector, government agency, or military organization, including 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Valid California BSIS Security Guard License.
- Valid California Driver’s License and ability to remain calm under stressful driving conditions with defensive driving tactics and training.
- Experience leading protective security details in the United States and abroad.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Confirmed experience conducting security advances, planning, and leading special events, investigations, and risk assessments.
- Track record of partnering within a large global corporate environment to achieve goals and objectives.
- Strategic and operational capabilities with experience assessing and implementing contingency plans based on risk.
- Solid understanding of physical security systems, including intrusion detection, CCTV, alarm monitoring, communications devices, and security software/hardware.
- Working knowledge of event security for VIPs, events, facilities, and intellectual property.
- Demonstrated resiliency, judgment, and tact in business and corporate challenges.
- Attention to accuracy and ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize business needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability with work hours, including weekends, nights, and travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent (or equivalent experience).
- Event security experience and skills to assist the Production Security team with production or event security matters.
- Cross‑group collaboration and relationship leadership skills, advising and coordinating remote teams.
