Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles managing third party teams, managers, or multiple delivery work streams
• Proven experience delivering large scale consumer facing applications within streaming, OTT, digital media, entertainment, e-commerce, subscription, membership, or other direct-to-consumer environments across mobile, web and connected platforms Roku, TVOS, FireTV and Smart TV
• Deep understanding of video streaming technologies including HLS, DASH, DRM, CDN behavior, player integrations, QoS/QoE monitoring, and playback performance optimization
• Experience using Swift for iOS / TVOS, Kotlin for Android, React & Typescript for web, Scene Graph / Brightscript for Roku
• Experience leading teams through the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, release management, device certification, monitoring, and production support
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, feature management, observability, application security, privacy, accessibility, and scalable release processes
• Experience partnering closely with Product, UX, Data, and business stakeholders to translate customer and business requirements into technical roadmaps and execution plans
• Experience building highly scalable, secure, and reliable consumer applications across multiple platforms and device ecosystems
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with experience presenting technical strategy and delivery progress to executive leadership

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting SVOD, streaming media, authenticated viewing, subscription-based services, next-day content, exclusive originals, or live streaming environments
• Experience with video player technologies such as AVPlayer, Exo Player, Shaka Player, Video.js, or commercial player SDKs
• Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools such as Conviva, New Relic, Datadog, Firebase, Adobe Analytics, or Amplitude
• Experience integrating subscription, entitlement, identity, loyalty, rewards, payment, commerce, or customer support systems into consumer-facing applications
• Experience managing internal engineering teams, contractors, offshore resources, and third-party technology partners

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Director of Client Engineering to lead the architecture, development, and operational excellence of consumer-facing applications across mobile, web, connected TV, and streaming platforms. This individual will oversee engineering teams responsible for delivering high quality experiences that support content discovery, video playback, authentication, subscription management, personalization, rewards integrations, search functionality, watchlists, and customer engagement. On a day-to-day basis, they will partner closely with Product, UX Design, Data, QA, Platform Engineering, Content Operations, Marketing, Commerce, and Customer Care teams to define technical roadmaps, deliver new features, improve application performance, and ensure a seamless customer experience across all supported devices.

They will drive engineering excellence through modern development practices, automated testing, release management, observability, and platform standardization while managing vendor relationships and third-party technology integrations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in streaming technologies, connected TV ecosystems, and large-scale consumer applications while serving as a strategic leader focused on reliability, scalability, and delivering a premium end-user experience.
