About Us:
As a Non-Emergency Medical Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and dispatching transportation services for non-emergency medical situations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and timely dispatch of our vehicles while maintaining clear communication with drivers and clients. We currently provide Wheelchair, Stretcher, BLS, ALS, and SCT in Los Angeles County.
Job Summary
The Non-Emergency Medical Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving and processing non-emergency medical transportation requests from healthcare facilities, patients, and their families. The dispatcher will coordinate with drivers and other dispatchers to ensure timely and efficient transportation services.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process non-emergency medical transportation requests
- Coordinate with drivers and other dispatchers to ensure timely and efficient transportation services
- Communicate with healthcare facilities, patients, and their families to provide updates on transportation status
- Maintain accurate records of transportation requests and services provided
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies
- Promptly and efficiently answer customer inquiries, process requests and schedule transportation
- Utilize system software to document call interaction and scheduling transportation; all documentation must be concise and accurate
- Pacify and respond to irate callers before escalating calls to supervisor
- Resolve customer problems with minimal supervision
- Attend weekly meetings updates for job proficiency
- Demonstrate flexibility in taking on new tasks or providing coverage for unexpected increases in volume of calls by assisting other departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dispatch or customer service role is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and transportation regulations is a plus
