Pet Smart’s Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and best-in-class salon services, while upholding the company’s standards. The role includes responsibility for cleanliness and pet health and safety.

• Independently performs full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) according to Pet Smart’s standards.
• Recommend additional health and wellness solutions based on pet needs.
• Manage pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
• Conduct appointment reminder calls, maintain client records, and consult with pet parents on services offered.
• Handle check-in/check-out for grooming appointments, including paperwork and rebooking.
• Promote salon sales to help achieve sales targets and metrics.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane treatment for all pets; perform maintenance and end-of-day cleaning per checklist.
• Take immediate action if a pet is sick or injured and arrange vet transport as needed.
• Assist in other departments as required; participate in Belonging and Recognition culture.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

• Prior grooming experience; or 6 months experience as a Stylist in Training with completion of Pet Smart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification, or passes salon technical evaluation.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to handle pressure and stay composed.
• Flexible schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands for handling, writing, etc.; occasional stoop, kneel, crouch; depth perception required. Reasonable accommodations available.
• Lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 100+ pounds with team lift. Depth perception required.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environment with pet hair, and moderate to high noise levels; exposure to live animals is common.
