Position: Office Assistant 3 - Burien

Office Assistant 3 (OA3)
Community Corrections Division – Burien, WA

Monthly Salary Range : $3,630.00 to $4,833.00
Permanent duty station in King County includes a 5% premium pay and a free ORCA card.

Overview

This full‑time, permanent Office Assistant (OA3) works under the Community Corrections Supervisor (CCS) at the Burien Field Office. The role is responsible for file management, advanced clerical support for the CCS, Community Corrections Officers (CCOs) and the field unit, and front‑desk reception duties. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Provide front desk reception on a rotational basis: greet and direct clients, manage a multi‑line phone system, and ensure proper opening and closing of the office.
  • Maintain electronic and physical files: database entry and retrieval from systems such as OMNI and OnBase, and archive closed DOC field files.
  • Offer general office support to the CCS and CCOs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months of clerical and/or customer service experience.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of clerical experience and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds.
  • Navigate internal databases.
  • Proofread written material and correct errors in grammar and punctuation.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly to staff, supervised individuals, public, and stakeholders.

Telework Details
