Position Overview

Duties and Responsibilities- Creating and developing lesson plans for teaching 7th grade mathematics and 7th & 8th grade science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
- Serve as 7th grade homeroom teacher and grade-level team member
- Measure student progress utilizing formative and summative assessments
- Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of junior high developmental characteristics
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver highly effective instructional practices aligned with best practices
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Attention to detail, highly organized, and strong classroom management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Mathematics, or related field
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate
- 3+ years experience teaching middle school or junior high-aged students
- Ability to engage students in meaningful, authentic learning experiences
- Commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development
- Experience integrating technology into classroom instruction
- Proficiency in differentiated instruction and data-driven decision-making
- Understanding and implementation of positive classroom management using PBIS systems
- Commitment to whole-child education
- A passion for promoting respect and responsibility within the school community
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Enthusiasm for fostering positive student-teacher-family relationships
Range is $57,000 - $90,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
