Job Summary

The Academic and Student Success Coach at Sylvester Middle School will support students in excelling both academically and socially. The coach acts as a liaison between classroom teachers and students, keeping students on track, assessing progress, and solving challenges. The role collaborates with school and district staff, families, and community partners to implement and manage intervention strategies that promote academic and social/emotional skills.

Responsibilities include working one-on-one or in small groups with students, heading the school's PBIS three-tier system, coordinating social skills curriculum for teachers, and fostering a positive student culture.

Required Qualifications
  • Current Washington State Teacher's certificate or WA State ESA School Counselor or WA State ESA Psychologist Certificate
  • Two years of direct experience working with children or youth in schools or equivalent settings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of teaching, counseling, or psychologist grade-level appropriate experience
  • Bilingual
