Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Level 2 NICU / Special Care Nursery (SCN) setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
- Attend deliveries as the baby nurse and manage care for neonates with diagnoses including phototherapy needs, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, neonatal abstinence syndrome (withdrawal), and rule-out sepsis
- Initiate and maintain IV access; assist with umbilical line placement and ongoing maintenance
- Manage and titrate drips including D5W and TPN
- Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment including Bubble CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators (prior to transfer)
- Flex to postpartum assignments (up to 3 mother-baby couplets) when SCN census is low, within the integrated LDRP department
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Experience attending deliveries as the baby nurse
- Proficiency with IV starts, IV maintenance, and facilitating transfers to a higher level of care
- Experience with Bubble CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Dual competency in both NICU Level 2 and postpartum / mother-baby nursing
- Experience with umbilical line placement assistance and maintenance
- Familiarity with BiPAP and ventilator management in the neonatal population prior to transfer
- Work within a supportive LDRP environment with a neonatologist in-house 24/7 and scrubs provided by the facility
- Structured 3-night unit-specific orientation with experienced staff to support your transition onto the unit
