Description

The Back of the House Staff is responsible for assisting with the production of bakery items, ensuring product quality, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. The Baker I works under the guidance of senior bakers to prepare high-quality baked goods, following established recipes and standards. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Production Support

  • Assist in preparing doughs, batters, and fillings according to specified recipes and instructions.
  • Ensure accurate scaling, measuring, and portioning of ingredients.

Baking and Preparation

  • Operate ovens, mixers, and other bakery equipment under the supervision of senior bakers.
  • Bake and monitor products to ensure they meet quality and consistency standards.

Quality Control

  • Conduct regular checks for product quality, adjusting baking times and temperatures as needed.
  • Report any inconsistencies or quality concerns to the Head Baker.

Inventory and Stocking

  • Monitor ingredients and supplies, ensuring that stock is adequately maintained and rotated.
  • Notify supervisors of any shortages or necessary reorders.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

  • Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other BOH team members to ensure a smooth production process.
  • Communicate effectively to maintain workflow and meet production schedules.

Job Requirements & Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in a bakery or commercial kitchen environment is preferred but not required.

Pay Rates: $15 ~ 17/hr
