Description:
Work together with the dentist to meet the oral health needs of the patient.
Provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team‑based environment.
Handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations.
These duties range in complexity and skill, requiring an exceptional level of customer service skills.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to working well with patients, doctors, dental assistants, and other dental office team members.
GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation may be required.
Provide oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education in accordance with state guidelines.
Apply fluoride and protective sealants.
Remove calculus, stain, and plaque from above and below the gum line.
Provide nutritional counseling and self‑care programs to prevent disease.
Record and review patient medical histories.
Uphold office policies, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Order and keep track of inventory as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This job operates in a medical/clinical environment.
Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, x‑rays, and phones is required.
This job operates in a well‑lit, sterile environment.
Employees must wear gloves, masks, protective eyewear, and clothing to safeguard themselves and patients from infectious diseases.
The employee frequently must talk and hear.
Stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
Walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood and blood‑borne pathogens and/or physical risks, which will require OSHA training.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Some locations may require GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy operational experience.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene school is required.
