School Counselor - Burleson, Texas

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a SPED Counselor, making a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students. This full-time onsite role spans from August 3rd through December 18th, covering two separate maternity leaves with a diverse caseload of 75-85 students. You'll play an essential role in conducting behavior threat assessments while supporting a broad range of students, enabling them to flourish academically and emotionally.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
• Current Texas School Counselor Certificate issued by SBEC (can be LPC, LCSW, LP, or LSSP)
• Experience working with students across various age and developmental levels
• Familiarity with special education protocols and behavioral assessment processes
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle sensitive situations with care and discretion

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services to a caseload of up to 85 K-12 students
• Complete comprehensive behavior threat assessments as part of school safety and wellness initiatives
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and parents/guardians to develop and implement individualized support plans
• Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
• Advocate for student needs and promote a safe, supportive learning environment
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to special education teams
