Position: Part 135 Director of Maintenance

Holds a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, has 3 years experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses; or at least 3 years of experience within the last 6 years repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station, including 1 year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service.

Knows all aspects of the Company's General Maintenance Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, and all maintenance requirements pertaining to FAR Part 135 and other applicable regulations necessary for the proper performance of his duties. Security Clearance Required.

Training:
Must have sufficient training in the concepts and programs specified in the Company's manuals to assume compliance with and supervise such programs. Will attend airframe, power plant, and equipment manufacturer and/or Company training courses determined to be necessary to fulfill the task requirements.

Job Description
  • Responsible directly to the General Manager for the overall administration of the Maintenance and Inspection Program, ensuring aircraft, engines, and appliances are maintained in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies and procedures.
  • Directs the policies and planning of the Company related to maintenance and is responsible for coordinating the Maintenance Department to ensure a smoothly functioning operation.
  • Plan, implement and direct inspection standards, methods and procedures utilized by the Company in complying with applicable FAR’s and manufacturer’s requirements.
  • Project the number and type of qualified Company personnel to properly and adequately perform inspection functions and is responsible for the selection, administration, training, and performance of Maintenance Department Personnel.
  • Coordinate planning personnel services as to integrate maintenance and inspection program requirements with production activities, and ensure a level of consistency, accountability and control of work documents.
  • Establish and/or approve Time Control Systems required to comply with FAR’s, manufacturer’s and Company requirements.
  • Direct the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance Program.
  • Interpret Airworthiness Directives, FAR’s, Manufacturer’s Bulletins and Letters, Engineering Publications, Maintenance Manuals and other data used in the operation of the Maintenance Department.
  • Authorize and implement Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
  • Monitor and control aircraft weight and balance procedures of aircraft in accordance with Company policies.
  • Manage the Company MEL/NEF Management Program.
  • Initiate and maintain the Operations Specification Part “D”, Aircraft Maintenance, and Part “E”, Aircraft weight and Balance for each type of aircraft in the Company’s fleet.
  • Maintain a current roster of all personnel authorized to sign for Required Inspection Items (RII’s) and Airworthiness Release on Company aircraft.
  • Actively engage in hiring qualified personnel.
  • Ensure the Repair Agency personnel are properly trained and authorized to sign for Required Inspection Items (RII’s) and Airworthiness Release on Company aircraft, and are familiar with the procedures outlined in the Company General Maintenance Manual.
  • Coordinate with the Contract agency in establishing and maintaining a program for the performance of training of mechanics, inspectors, and related maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure initial SDR/MIS reports and all final SDR/MIS reports are completed and submitted to the FAA in a timely manner.
  • Schedule maintenance personnel to meet manpower requirements for the work to be performed.
  • Ensure the timely production of aircraft maintenance to meet operating schedules.
  • Ensure assigned personnel receive adequate documented maintenance training; and that proper procedures, methods and practice are adhered to in the performance of their respective duties.
  • Ensure Hangar and Line Maintenance facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner, and all line equipment and tools are maintained in a serviceable and working manner.
