Credit Officer Associate
Assists loan officers in the analysis, servicing and reporting of mortgage and commercial loans. Works with lending staff in the development of appropriate credit decisions, including approval or denial of loans within personal delegated authority. Analyzes financial information including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and tax returns.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, agricultural economics, or a related field. Related experience in the administration and analysis of commercial and mortgage loans including risk assessments and recommendations on approval of loan applications and a basic understanding of lending regulations, credit operations, and credit practices is preferred.
Ideal candidate will possess a general knowledge of accounting and financial systems. General knowledge of accounting and finance principles is preferred. Ability to perform basic accounting/financial analyses under moderate supervision. A working knowledge of personal computers is essential including proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Good interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
Provides analysis, servicing and reporting of the association's mortgage and commercial loans. Works with complex loans and loan participation packages. Analyzes financial information including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and tax returns to ascertain credit worthiness. Determines probability of default ratings and makes recommendations for approval or denial of loans within delegated authority. Complies with proper credit administration practices as outlined by policy and procedure.
Assists senior-level credit officers with complex loan applications as necessary. Assists with formulating solutions to credit related issues. Makes and/or conveys decisions on loan approval, structure, and pricing. Responsible for exercising credit risk management responsibilities on loans within area of responsibility.
Frequent interaction with customers, association departmental staff and management. Occasional interaction with association senior management, CEO, and/or board of directors. Occasional interaction with Farm Credit Bank of Texas staff. Frequent interaction with area professionals including real estate agents, commercial bankers, and others who deal with the association in the normal course of business.
