* 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM). Day and night shift opportunities available. Candidates with the flexibility to work either shift are strongly preferred.

+ Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations and concerns to the registered nurse or behavioral health clinician.

+ Implements patient-centered care and trauma-informed care.

+ Creates and supports a therapeutic environment for safe treatment implementation.

+ Performs observation rounds on assigned patients, documenting in real time, in order to detect behavior patterns.

+ Utilizes clear and positive communication skills to assess and provide therapeutic intervention for patients' and families' needs and concerns.

+ Records measures of patients' general physical condition, such as vital signs and blood glucose levels, as ordered.

+ Orients patients and families to the unit. Identifies early signs of escalation in patients and effectively de-escalates.

+ Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients as required, and monitors patients in restraints according to policy guidelines.

+ Performs environmental rounds per policy and report unsafe conditions.

+ Manages or assists with daily group activities.

+ Performs other duties as assigned

** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
* + Ability to communicate appropriately, professionally, and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]

+ Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]

+ Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and local, state, and national laws [Required]

+ Proficiency in computer systems to enter and track patient records [Required]

+ Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

+ Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English [Required]
