Job Description

Position:
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager.

• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing results.
• Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.
• Notify donors of unsuitable test results.
• Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow procedures for medical emergencies.
• Consult with Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluations by occupational health/ER.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state of responsibility (LPN or LVN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

$24.32 - $33.44 hourly wage range for the Burleson, TX location. The actual wage may vary with qualifications and experience.
