Retail Sales Associate

Overview

Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our Team. Compensation ranges from $10.00 to $13.00 per hour, with commission on transactions. Earn up to 8% commission on transactions, potentially adding an average of $1.21 per hour on top of hourly pay.

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the store team to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides. The associate greets, engages, and assists customers with sales, loans, and other transactions, and helps resolve inquiries. The role involves working with a variety of jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, and, in FFL locations, firearms.

The full-time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate earns an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Pay is influenced by location, qualifications, and experience.

• Greet and interact with customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non-management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and display merchandise effectively.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items per policies and procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Explain legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers; contribute to a positive customer experience.
• Complete required training and perform other related duties as assigned.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, bending, etc.).
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified (as applicable).
• Outside duties may include assisting customers in exterior areas.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to serve customers, be team-oriented, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform basic math; cash handling experience preferred.
• Willingness to work at multiple locations as needed; flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and office equipment.

The commission plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2-8% commission based on personal gross profit, with details provided during the interview process.

Pay rates will not be below applicable local minimum wage requirements. Earned Wage Access is available through Net Spend (restrictions and fees apply). First Cash 401K is available to employees 21+. Maximum base pay rate is derived from experience and skills.
