Utility Worker I PRIMARY DUTY
Working under the assigned supervisor in charge of field operations, primary responsibility will be perform labor and technical work to maintain the water and wastewater systems. Perform 24 hour stand‑by duties as needed or on a rotating basis for operations, maintenance, and safety of facilities to ensure the integrity of the system.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA combination of education and experience and professional skills that best meets the needs of this position will be considered. Some considerations are:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License with good driving record required.
- For continued employment must obtain:
- Valid class "A" Texas Commercial Driver's license with tank endorsement within six months of hire or transfer into position.
- Minimum Class "D" or higher Water Treatment/Distribution license or Class "D/I" or higher Wastewater Treatment/Collection license as issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality within one year of hire or transfer into position.
A combination of education and experience and professional skills that best meets the needs of this position will be considered. Some considerations are:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of work in the water distribution or wastewater collection system maintenance or inspection field.
(Years of education/experience may be considered in selection process with regard to minimum qualifications)
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED- Valid class "A" Texas Commercial Driver's license with tank endorsement and good driving record.
- Minimum Class "D" Water Treatment or Distribution license or Class "D/I" or higher Wastewater Treatment/Collection license as issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
