Operations Manager
Job Description
The Technical Engineering Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, management and coordination of the Engineering, Maintenance and Process Control teams focused on maximizing production results while staying within applicable cost targets. This position will be responsible for improving operating performance, reducing waste and delays and otherwise promoting cost reductions for the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide leadership for Engineering, Maintenance and Process Control with the ultimate objective of maximizing production volume while achieving cost targets.
- Manage the capital budget and develop the technical talent in the group.
- Ensure plant facilities and production equipment are properly maintained.
- Manage the plant Capital Budget and Engineering expense budget.
- Work with plant technical and operations resources to identify capital deployment opportunities.
- Be responsible for CAR submission and coordination of capital activities.
- Handle hiring, salary administration, performance management including disciplinary actions, employee development and salary administration.
- Provide engineering support and resources to sustain plant production.
- Coordinate communication and implementation of manufacturing and technical initiatives.
- Manage the AOP budget, which includes technical group salaries, building and grounds, maintenance materials and utilities.
- Ensure site environmental compliance and support plant safety programs.
- BA/BS degree preferred in engineering.
- 6+ years in engineering field with demonstrated project and process management skills and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and negotiation skills required.
- Ability to analyze and problem‑solve various technical related issues.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize a changing workload in a very fast‑paced environment.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and MRP systems.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional projects within area of responsibility.
