Position OverviewThe Manager in Training (MIT) works with the store manager and teams to achieve sales goals, drive a customer‑focused environment, manage talent and performance, and execute visual standards. Through a 3–6 month training program, MITs prepare for a full store manager role and are expected to relocate to designated store locations.
Responsibilities- Customer Obsession – Drives and achieves a customer‑focused store environment, provides fashion expertise, and consistently demonstrates awareness of customer needs through actions, priorities and decisions.
- Driving Sales – Manages sales goals by analyzing performance reports, adjusting plans, and maximizing profitability through scheduling, payroll, and sales‑driving programs.
- Talent Management – Makes quality hiring decisions, develops successors, provides feedback, and cultivates an environment that empowers associates to reach full potential.
- Operational Execution – Maintains operational excellence, minimizes inventory loss, enforces policies, and ensures execution of company direction across POS, visual, HR, and operations.
High School Diploma or GED required; a business or retail merchandising degree preferred. Supervisory experience in a customer‑focused environment, preference for fashion industry. Proven track record of achieving and setting goals, hiring, promoting, motivating talent, and making sound decisions with professionalism. Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills and perseverance in the face of setbacks. Must commit to a specific store location or group of stores.
Physical RequirementsWork varied hours and days as needed. Stand, push, pull, squat and bend for at least 8 hours; operate all store equipment, computerized register, and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds. Use of lower body and reach required.
